The Building (unfunded) accountability into the localization agenda – Part 1 is the first of a two-part blog series by Accountability Lab on accountability in the nonprofit sector and how funders can better understand its relationship to localization. Accountability Lab notes that while awareness of the costs of being accountable has increased over the past five years, it has become more difficult and expensive to fund. The localization agenda, particularly supported by the US Government, commits development partners to channel a larger portion of official development assistance (ODA) directly to local organizations.
